Shakespeare Mas

"To be or not to be there - is no question"

This one of a kind cultural event has the islanders dressing up in colourful home made costumes to compete in reciting lines from Shakespeare’s plays. You know who is well prepared for the event by how much padding they put in their costume, because when a player makes a mistake, forgets their lines or can’t respond to the other in equal prose - their opponent whacks them with a stick. We call that getting ‘licks’. The person who receives the most ‘licks’ loses and the person who gave the most ‘licks’ wins.
