Lake Antoine

More than a small lake, this volcanic crater is home to several endangered bird species

Enter the volcano! Grenada offers so many unusual attractions and bird watching inside a shallow crater is just another one. Located in the northeast, its name likely comes from Captain Antoine, the Carib Chief who lived in this area around 1650. Walk and watch, knowing you may never experience anything like this again in life!

A must-see for birdwatching, you can find Caribbean Coots, Great Egrets, small diving ducks Ruddy Ducks, grebes and there are some unofficial reports of the presence of the whistling duck. Binoculars and Telescopes are recommended.
